BrilliantColor™ + DLP® Technologies
DLP projectors with BrilliantColor technology feature multicolor processing to produce vibrant images on the screen. It not only improves color accuracy, but brightens secondary colors for accurate, true-to-life images.

Unlike other technologies, DLP technology with BrilliantColor uses up to six separate colors to produce a picture. The combination of the DLP chip with BrilliantColor produces a new level of color performance that increases the brightness of the colors by up to 50% over DLP projectors without BrilliantColor.

DLP Pico™ HD Chipset
The Vivitek Qumi LED projector uses DLP’s Pico™ HD chipset, the latest chip to feature award-winning DLP Pico technology. Just like DLP’s other chips, the Pico HD chipset uses millions of microscopic mirrors to reflect a digital image. Compared to previous DLP chips, the Pico HD chips project images with more brightness and greater energy efficiency. The DLP Pico HD chipset is capable of projecting pictures of up to 100 inches. All this comes from a chip the size of your fingertip, which allows the Qumi to be light and compact.
No lamp with LED technology
The Qumi is LED-based, meaning there is no lamp that needs to be replaced. By using an LED light source, the Qumi can be used up to an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 hours. This would be like using the Qumi for eight hours a day, every day for the next 10 years. Projectors with LED technology are not only more energy efficient compared to those with traditional lamps, but the color accuracy is also improved due to the emitted light of an intended color without any color filters, basically meaning increased color saturation.

DLP Link™ Technology for Stereoscopic 3D
Partnering with Texas Instruments and featuring DLP Link technology, the Qumi can function as a regular 2D projector, and can be switched to play 3D content when the situation calls for it.

Using DLP Link, the Qumi seamlessly shares data and content with the active shutter glasses. This data sharing enables the projector to send 3D information to the glasses in between each frame of video to create the 3D effect, creating an immersive viewing experience.
How to set up Qumi for 3D playback
To produce the 3D viewing experience, you will need other components along with your projector.

What you’ll need:
  • • Video-based PC/Laptop with a quad-buffered, open GL 3D graphics card and running Windows XP/7
  • • 3D media player
  • • "Active" shutter 3D glasses with DLP Link
  • • 3D content/software

Viewing 3D with Qumi:
  • • Connect a PC/laptop to the projector via VGA cable
  • • Turn on DLP Link through the projector’s menu
  • • Enable "Stereoscopic 3D" from your PC/laptop
  • • Adjust the resolution of the display to XGA or SVGA at 120Hz
  • • Put on your pair of DLP Link based 3D glasses and experience 3D
